Think of perfect sunsets and views of the city walls and Lokrum island, 200 meters above the sea. We can’t think of a better venue with complete privacy for an elopement of your dreams.
This incredible park consists of a medieval chapel St. Orsula and and Amphitheater offering many options for a wedding far away from the crowded city center. Whether it’s only the two of you or a few relatives or friends, you will be taken aback by the ambience and the views extending all the way to Cavtat. PALACE VIEWPOINT
It doesn’t get more secluded than this unique stone viewpoint overlooking the open sea, surrounded by Mediterranean pine trees. The viewpoint is located in Lapad area, a beautiful green residential area a few kilometers from the Old town. The fact that this venue is not in the Old town is what kept it a mystery throughout the years. Locals are well aware of the beautiful forest and the viewpoint but frequent it more often in the winter months.
The smell of pine trees and sea water makes for a perfect setting to elope without curious bystanders. The biggest charm of the stone viewpoint is its peacefulness and that is what an intimate elopement is all about!
Follow us on a beautiful trail with paved and crushed stone to this gem in the middle of the forest and have the most romantic getaway.
LOKRUM ISLAND
Lokrum island is a protected nature reserve reached by a 10 minute boat crossing from the Old port. This green oasis consist of a Mediterranean pine forest, a salt lake, a Benedictine monastery from the 11th century, exotic peacocks and more.
There are a lot of mysteries, myths and legends about the island with the most famous being the curse of Benedictines. The monks were banished from Lokrum and the night before leaving they placed a curse on every future owner of the island.
With its complex history and enchanting nature, Lokrum is a memorable wedding venue and it offers three locations: a Benedictine monastery and its botanical garden, the Palm garden perfect for both bigger and smaller weddings, and the Olive grove. In terms of elopements the Olive grove is the most suitable venue since it is roped and protected from visitors.
After the ceremony you could enjoy in a drink or two in a bar right by the botanical garden and have a romantic dinner in the Old town. This just might be the venue you were looking for and we can guarantee that the Lokrum curse does not apply to marriages!
